Southside Behavioral Health Launches 988 Signage Distribution Initiative
BRUNSWICK, MECKLENBURG, & HALIFAX, VIRGINIA – Southside Behavioral Health is proud to announce the distribution of 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline signage to local school districts, faith-based center, businesses, youth serving organizations, and community organizations. The 988 Lifeline provides 24/7 call and chat support and can directly connect individuals to their local crisis teams, ensuring immediate help is available whenever it’s needed.
These durable signs—available with optional mounting poles—are intended to increase visibility of the 988 crisis line and ensure individuals in distress can quickly access lifesaving support. By placing this signage in prominent community spaces, we aim to enhance mental health awareness and promote timely access to help during critical moments.
“The 988 Lifeline signage helps connect people to immediate support when they need it most. A simple sign can be the first step toward hope, healing, and safety,” shared Kenan Tyner-Smith, Director of Prevention and Community Connection.
Organizations interested in receiving signage may contact Southside Behavioral Health Prevention Services at prevention@southsidebh.org or 434-572-6916 ext. 1550 for details and distribution support. Thank you for partnering with us to support a healthier Virginia.
