POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Halifax Police Department is taking applications for a Full-Time Police Officer to be under the direct supervision of the Police Chief. All expenses are paid during training period at the Central Virginia Criminal Justice Academy. Candidates will perform law enforcement duties within the Town as required. Shift work may rotate with weekly hours.
QUALIFICATIONS: At least 21 years of age by completion of training academy, United States citizen, graduate of an accredited high school or successful completion of a GED. Must possess a valid Virginia driver's license. Must pass an extensive background check. No felony convictions or convictions for misdemeanors involving moral turpitude and excellent moral character.
COMPENSATION RANGE: Salary with benefits; based on experience.
