    "The Tall Cop" for Eye-Opening Youth Safety and Drug Trend Presentation


    HALIFAX, VA — Three local youth supporting agencies invites all parents, guardians, coaches,
    educators, law enforcement, emergency services, and community members to a crucial,
    immersive presentation designed to help adults recognize the hidden warning signs of
    substance use in local youth.National substance abuse expert Jermaine Galloway, widely known
    as "The Tall Cop," will present his acclaimed program, "High in Plain Sight," in the Halifax County
    High School auditorium on Monday, September 21, 2026
    .
    "Known across the country as 'The Tall Cop,' Jermaine Galloway delivers an eye-opening look at
    youth drug culture and hidden substance trends. His famous motto is, 'You can't stop what you
    don't know.' Please get ready for an interactive, highly visual presentation that will completely
    change how you view the warning signs in our community," said Kimberly Gordon, Halifax
    County High School’s teacher, coach and sponsor of the substance abuse prevention youth
    coalition S.P.E.A.K. ( Students for Prevention, Education, Awareness and Knowledge)

    • 5:00 PM – 5:30 PM: Community Resource Fair, "Lock and Talk Virginia" presentation & Rapid REVIVE! Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Training
    • 5:30 PM: "High in Plain Sight" Presentation with Officer Jermaine Galloway

    An Urgent Call to Action for Halifax County Adults and other partners: Youth drug culture
    changes rapidly, and the items, logos, clothing, and terminology young people use to conceal
    substance use are often hidden right in front of us. If you are a parent, relative, mentor, or
    neighbor who cares about the safety of local youth, your presence at this event is vital. You will
    leave equipped with the real-world knowledge needed to spot early warning signs and step in
    before a crisis occurs. How to Attend: Admission is free. All community members invested in
