CHAMBER TO HOST HALIFAX COUNTY CANDIDATE FORUMS OCTOBER 28, 2025
Forums Will Give Voters the Opportunity to Hear from Candidates
The Halifax County Chamber of Commerce will host a free event for the public featuring candidates running for Halifax County Board of Supervisors, and Halifax County School Board. The format will feature five minutes of comments by each candidate followed by five questions prepared by the Chamber’s Legislative Committee.
The event will be held on October 28, 2025, at the South Boston Town Hall: 420 Main Street, South Boston, VA. The event will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m.
The purpose of the event is to provide the public with an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates in a structured and impartial setting. Audience questions will not be taken, and there will be no direct interaction or rebuttals between candidates.
Four candidates have confirmed attendance, and additional candidates have prepared statements.

The forum will be moderated by Nick Long, formerly of WHLF 95.3.
“This forum is about open discourse and civic engagement,” said Ashley Stephenson, Director of Membership at the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce. “Our community is strongest when citizens are informed, involved, and make their voices heard—especially at the local level, where so many decisions directly affect our daily lives.”
