The Community Foundation of the Dan River Region is excited to announce its annual Competitive Grant Cycle opens Monday, June 1. The Competitive Grant Cycle is open to nonprofit organizations and approved government entities within our service region, which includes the city of Danville, VA, Pittsylvania and Halifax counties, and Caswell County, NC.
All organizations are strongly encouraged to begin considering and planning their application now, so all information is provided in time. The deadline to submit all applications is Friday, July 24.
Nonprofit organizations must have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and be in good standing in order to apply for grant funding. Organizations that may apply include churches, schools, agencies and local government departments (some restrictions apply). This funding will be awarded in January 2027 for projects to be completed within the calendar year. Applicants must apply online via our website https://www.cfdrr.org/organizations/competitive-grant-cycle/.
In January, The Foundation awarded a total of $1,004,400 in grants through the competitive grant cycle to 67 agencies serving the region. These grants supported animal services, arts and culture, community development, health and wellness, education and youth, human services and emergency services.
