As the Chamber’s chief executive and public voice, you’ll work alongside an engaged Board of Directors, an ambitious business community, and regional partners to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen Halifax County’s position as a place where businesses thrive and people want to live, work, and invest.

What You will Do

• Inspire & Lead: Partner with the Board to define vision and strategy and rally the community behind it.

• Grow & Strengthen: Drive revenue growth through membership, sponsorships, programs, and partnerships.

• Advocate & Influence: Serve as the voice of business—building trusted relationships with elected officials and championing pro-business policies.

• Innovate & Build: Create programs that deliver measurable value to members while positioning the Chamber as a leader in workforce development, entrepreneurship, and investment.

• Develop & Empower: Lead a talented team, cultivate volunteers, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results.

• Operate & Oversee: Manage daily operations, staff, and administration to ensure excellence and efficiency.

• Plan & Steward: Lead budget development with transparency, accountability, and sound fiscal management.

• Sustain & Grow: Strengthen the Chamber’s financial position through memberships, sponsorships, programs, fundraising, and grants.

What We Are Looking For

• A strategic, innovative leader with proven experience at the executive or senior level in a Chamber, association, nonprofit, or business/economic development organization.

• Strong skills in fiscal management, strategic planning, fundraising, and team leadership.

• A natural relationship-builder who can bring together diverse stakeholders and build consensus.

• A compelling communicator and advocate, confident in public speaking and media relations.

• Tech-savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with modern digital communication tools.

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or U.S. Chamber Institute program completion preferred.

  Compensation

  Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
