As the seasons are beginning to change, it is no doubt that fall is the best time to view the leaves around us. Seeking these changing leaves has become a popular hobby for nature enthusiasts, photographers, and painters. Bright hues of green that surround us slowly fade to golden yellows and oranges and deep reds. The South Boston – Halifax County Museum has invited Staunton River Battlefield State Park Ranger Ethan Armistead to explain why leaves change color. On September 22nd, Ranger Armistead will share the secrets of the leaves in two programs. The first program for children ages 13 and under will last from 12:30 PM – 1:15 PM. The second program for teens and adults will run from 2 PM – 3 PM.
