Come celebrate the 235th anniversary of the Crossing of the Dan in mid-February. Considered the turning point in the American Revolutionary War, the annual celebration commemorates General Nathanael Greene’s Southern Field Army's race to and the crossing of the Dan River in Halifax County. This would be considered a major event in the South, and one leading to the British surrender at Yorktown. In addition to the program, visitors may self-curate an exhibit on the third floor of The Prizery to learn more about one of the masterful military achievements of all time.
