Coffee & Commerce & Robots
The Halifax County Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Team 977 Robotics and Southside Tech to host Coffee & Commerce & Robots, a special morning event connecting local business leaders with one of Halifax County’s most innovative student-led organizations.
Team 977 is a student-led FIRST Robotics Competition team serving Halifax County and surrounding communities. Through hands-on engineering, coding, and real-world problem solving, students develop technical skills, leadership experience, and career awareness aligned with regional workforce needs.
During Coffee, Commerce, and Robots, attendees will hear a brief overview of Team 977’s mission and 2026 rebuild season, tour the team’s workshop, see the robot in progress, and meet the students and mentors behind the work. The agenda also includes student and mentor perspectives, as well as a discussion on how local businesses can engage through mentorship, sponsorship, and workforce partnerships.
