The Merchants Association of Gretna will sponsor the 2016 Strawberry & Wine Festival Saturday, May 14.
The fourth annual event will be held from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on the grounds of the old Galveston Mills property at 405 Main Street in Gretna. (Please note new location this year.)
The festival will feature wine tastings from eight wineries: Rebec Winery, The Homeplace Vineyard, Tomahawk Mill Winery, White Oak Mountain Meadery, DeVault Vineyards, Greenwood Winery, Peaks of Otter Winery, and Sans Soucy Vineyards.
Motley’s Strawberry Farm will sell fresh strawberries and strawberry shortcake.
The Rock and Roll Diner and other food vendors will offer hot dogs, hamburgers, and barbecue.
Local favorite Diamondback along with the Stone Canyon Band from Roanoke will provide entertainment.
The merchants association will sell wine yokes (glass holders), t-shirts, and totes.
Vendors will offer custom-made wine racks, grapevine wreaths, jewelry, painted glass, wind chimes, and other items.

Tickets, which include a free souvenir wine glass, are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. Admission is $5 for non-tasters. Children 16 and under will be admitted free.
Advance tickets are available in Gretna at Edward Jones, Insurance Junction, El Cazador, Tyler Flower Shop, and American National Bank and Trust. Tickets also are available at Miller’s Jewelry in Altavista, ChathaMooCa and The Homeplace Vineyard in Chatham, and Danville Toyota.

A free parking shuttle will be offered from Gretna High School.
