  • Lead Halifax 2026/2027 Application

    Lead Halifax, established in 1989, is a premier program of the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce. It was created to develop leadership skills of individuals within the community. With over 30 years of success and over 350 graduates, Lead Halifax continues to enhance the civic participation of emerging leaders within Halifax County. Every other year, a class of community leaders representing the private, public and non-profit sectors enrolls for nine day-long sessions of instruction and dialogue about key county and regional issues, leadership development skills and opportunities for increased civic involvement.

    Benefits of sponsorship: Your name and logo listed on the Chamber’s website, recognition in the Chamber’s E-News, name recognition in the local newspapers, name recognition on all printed materials for the sponsored session, a ten-minute presentation by a representative of your business to the group during the lunch hour.
    TUITION & REFUND POLICY: Notification of selection into the LHC class will be made by July 17th. Upon acceptance into the program, a deposit of $250 will be due to reserve your spot. The tuition of $1000 (members) and $1100 (non-members), minus the deposit must be paid in full to the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce no later than August 13, 2026. The tuition for Leadership Halifax County is payable by the participant or employer. Tuition is non-refundable and non-transferrable. *
    COMMITMENT: In order for Lead Halifax to accomplish its stated goals, the full participation of each individual is mandatory. Sessions are held at various locations throughout Halifax County from 9am to 4pm. Missing more than 30 minutes of a session is considered a ½ absence. Participants who have more than 1 absence will not graduate from the program. If selected as a Lead Halifax program participant, you understand that you are committing yourself to attend the above sessions, which includes fully involving yourself in the activities of each. Upon acceptance, you remit $250 (non-refundable) of the tuition to secure your place in the program. *
    Your employer must understand the time commitment required in the Lead Halifax program, and you must confirm their support of your involvement.
