Center of Nursing Excellence Manager
The Southern Virginia Higher Education Center is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Manager, Center of Nursing. Must possess the following skills and attributes: proven facilitator, trainer, instructor, or effective teaching experiences involving a combination of applied learning/hands-on experiences aligned with technical and adult-learner concepts including simulation training delivery. Demonstrated healthcare instructional programming development and delivery for multiple user groups. Proven ability to think, plan, and act strategically with demonstrated success in managerial and leadership roles. Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with educational and corporate partners as well as a non-traditional student body and various stakeholders. Ability to effectively lead and deliver customer-centered outreach and training. Moderate to advanced computer literacy including proficiency using word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications. Ability to use data to help inform decision-making. Some experience with successful marketing and recruitment efforts. Must be familiar with curriculum development requirements. PLEASE NOTE: This is a restricted classified, grant funded position. Funding is dependent upon grant funding availability.
Clinical experience in nursing simulation. Knowledge of simulation lab, multimedia equipment and computer software used in the delivery of health instruction. Demonstrated flexibility in working with others and meeting the needs of a diverse student population. Must be able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and be able to develop programs and curricula to meet healthcare industry needs. Significant work experience in higher education, programs/project management, marketing/public relations, or equivalent combination of education and experience indicative of possession of the preceding knowledge and abilities. Strong written, oral and presentation skills. Experience effectively use and appreciation of information technology. Possesses supervisory and administrative experience. Significant evidence of responsible and progressive leadership.
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Nursing; Possess an unrestricted license to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia; Simulation Educator credential; BLS/ACLS instructor certification; Experience in teaching or environment; Certified in Basic Life Support (CPR/AED/First Aid); Grant writing experience.
Successful candidate must enroll in Simulation Education Program and BLS/ACLS instructor certification within six months of hire.
