    General Information: 
    This role develops and leads the HSE cultural transformation throughout PGTR Hub North America, focused on: identifying, understanding, and promoting behavioral, cultural, and organizational changes to continuously improve HSE performance; leveraging the Integrated Transformer Management (ITM) System to drive a more prevention-based HSE Management System; and driving innovative programs and initiatives driven in collaboration with other Hitachi Energy entities, and inspired by best practices throughout the broader industry.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Sets, develops, and leads functional (i.e., HSE) transformation, learning and cultural development activities, in alignment with the Hitachi Energy's HSE strategy.
      • Drives cultural transformation initiatives across PGTR Hub North America, with a hands-on approach that engages shop floor employees and front-line leaders.
      • Drives transformation initiatives linked to Human Operational Performance (HOP) principles - learning from successes and failures by installing an open and transparent reporting environment in HSE.
    • Guides, coaches, and advises PGTR Hub North America team members on transformational HSE programs to focus on a culture of LIFE* (Life-changing Injury and Fatality Elimination).
    • Creates a culture where organizational conflicts are treated as opportunities to reform and renew the organization.
    • Operationalize the HSE transformation strategy utilizing the Strategy Deployment process and driving improved HSE focus in our Daily Management processes.
    Communication and learnings
    • Builds the competence and capacity of PGTR Hub North America through innovative learning solutions to ensure that HSE commitments, standards, processes, and procedures, are communicated, implemented, and measured throughout PGTR Hub North America.
    • Drive improved HSE risk identification and mitigation through the structured On-the-Job Training process.
    • Partner and collaborate with the Integrated Transformer Management (ITM) System Leaders throughout Hub North America to drive learning and best practices to fully integrate HSE and ITM as a connected Management System.
    Digitalization and analytics
    • Helps PGTR Hub North America accelerate its HSE transformation along the entire value chain by identifying, assessing, and reporting on global emerging HSE trends and related legislation in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
    • Is responsible for digital innovation initiatives in HSE, new trends and forays to help advance and transform HSE through emerging digital trends, e.g., use of Power BI.
    • Engage in the Strategy Deployment Root Cause Countermeasure (RCCM) process and the Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) process to analyze root cause and drive systemic risk reduction actions.
    Operations and risk management
    • Proactively adapts Hub HSE standards to continuously improve performance to support Hitachi Energy's ambition for world-class HSE performance.
    • Define and implement the HSE standards, expectations and learning mechanisms integrated in the structured On-the-Job Training process to improve HSE performance for shop floor operations teams and front-line leaders.
    Governance and competency
    • Benchmarks PGTR Hub North America's HSE processes and culture with internal and external best practices and challenges status quo at all levels.
    • Influences PGTR Hub North America team members to accept new practices and innovative approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.
    • Leverage the use of Leader Standard Work (LSW) throughout the Hub North America to drive specific expectations and ownership for HSE preventive and routine actions by all core functional roles.

    Your background:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, safety, or Organizational Development
    • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
    • Eight or more years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in manufacturing
    • Three or more years of practical Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) experience implementing the principles of HOP to drove cultural change in a manufacturing or project environment.
    • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
    • Problem solving and decision-making skills
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Office and HSE management information software systems
    • initiative-taking
    • Travel up to 50%
    • Collaborator and approachable
    • Experience working in a Lean Operating/Business System, e.g., Toyota Production System, Honeywell Operating System, and Danaher Business System
    • Preferred:
      • Experience with Industrial and organizational psychology
      • Experience and/or familiarity with ISO-45001 & ISO 14001
      • Experience with represented workforce
      • Ability to work within and support matrixed leadership and functional teams
