     The Town of South Boston is seeking candidates for the position of Project Manager. This candidate should be highly responsible and professional. This job focuses on developing, managing, and implementing economic development projects designed to attract industry, create better paying jobs, and increase the investment tax base
     

    JOB SUMMARY

    Perform complex professional work directing and implementing the design, bidding, construction, maintenance, and documentation of major long-term projects. This includes construction projects (new buildings or maintenance and alterations of existing buildings).
     

    Oversees construction projects from inception through concept, design, and engineering through completion and occupancy. Responsible for keeping projects flowing smoothly while remaining on time and within budget. Coordinates with town, county, state, and federal agencies. Keeps Town of South Boston administration informed of project statuses and makes recommendations for sound projects.
     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF WORK
     

    Education and Experience:
     

    Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public administration, civil engineering or related field preferred, and two years previous economic development experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
     

    Licenses or Certifications:
     

    Valid driver’s license, preference for candidates licensed as a Virginia Certified Building Official
     

    Benefits and Salary:
     

    Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 depending on experience and qualifications

    10 accrued sick hours per month, 8-hour per month for annual leave (extends to 12 hours after 5 years)
