Instructor of Nursing - Full Time
Danville Community College seeks an energetic nursing instructor for a full-time permanent position. Teaching assignments will involve first and second year nursing didactic and clinical courses. Academic advising and committee responsibilities are assigned to this position. The successful candidate should expect to be an active participant in expanding nursing education at the college.
A Master’s degree in nursing, or completion of one in the next year is required, as well as a current unencumbered RN licensure in the Commonwealth of VA. A record of a prior successful teaching, preferably in a community college setting, is desirable, as well as acute care clinical experience within the last five years.
Other qualifications include ability to lift 50 lbs.; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; evidence of successful work experience as a team member; ability to work effectively with culturally diverse student populations; commitment to quality instruction, scholarship, and academic integrity; excellent clinical skills; interest and/or experience in engaging students in campus life outside the classroom; web-based/on-line instructional experience desired; experience with nursing accreditation desired.
