Prezi Presentations Workshop

Make presentations more memorable with an Intro to Prezi workshop offered by Workforce Services@SVHEC to be taught Dec. 4 and 17.

Prezi is a virtual, 3-D canvas that allows users to present their material in a visual way. On Dec.4 and 17, the SVHEC’s Workforce Services division will offer a workshop on using this new tool to transform lifeless slideshows into a dynamic dialogue with an audience.

Prezi is user-friendly, and easy to learn for the beginning student. With Prezi’s unique zoom feature, users can give audiences a bird’s eye view of general points and then zoom in on key features for effect. Combined with rich, beautifully rendered templates, Prezi will transform boring slideshows into engaging presentations.

“Humans are wired to remember images and stories much better than text on a screen,” said Hope Harris-Gayles, SVHEC communications manager and facilitator for the Intro to Prezi workshops. “Prezi forces you out of simply putting bullet points on a slide, and because of this, Prezi users are more focused, engaging speakers and their presentations are more memorable,” she continued.

Workforce Services @SVHEC will offer the first Intro to Prezi workshop on Dec. 4 from 9 a.m.-noon, and a second workshop on Dec. 17 from 1-4 p.m. The cost is $30 per person with discounts available for multi-person registrations. Both sessions are for beginners–no prior experience necessary.
